About

Hello, my name is Ryan Wong, and Iā€™m born in Hong Kong and I lived in Shanghai from 2004-2017. I went to all kinds of international schools in Shanghai and graduated high school in Concordia International School Shanghai in 2017.

I am currently attending University of California Santa Cruz starting as an undergraduate and majoring in Electrical Engineering.

I started taking interest in electronics since I was 14, my most profound memory of electronics was building my first personal gaming computer. With access to YouTube in Mainland China via Astrill VPN, I taught myself how to built a computer in under a month. This experience taught me the individuality of electronic components and how it affects software performance.

I first took interest in Electrical Engineering in the summer of my high school junior year when I met Professor Jay Kuo in University of Southern California. I took a two month internship at USC learning about the fundamentals of Matlab, Central Neural Network, entrepreneurship, and image processing and recognition. This gave me insight to how software applications are the forefront of innovation, that is why Computer Science is the most popular choice for undergrad student major. But my interest in hardware design wanted me to study Electrical Engineering, where I can close the gap between hardware and software with integrated circuitry.
